Mini-Symposium: From Source to Second Life – Challenges in Battery Materials and Recycling

 Share this on:

In the framework of the Horizon Europe project Healing Bat and with the support of the e4Battery initiative at TU Delft, a mini-symposium will take place focusing on key challenges in the future of battery technologies.

The event will be held on June 12, 2026, from 10:30 to 12:00, at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, TU Delft (Lecture Room B, Kluyverweg 1, Delft).

About the event

This mini-symposium will explore critical challenges across the entire battery lifecycle — from the development of novel materials to end-of-life strategies — contributing to a more sustainable and circular future.

Discussions will cover topics such as next-generation battery chemistries (including Li-metal, solid-state, and Na-ion systems), the understanding and mitigation of material degradation processes, and the recycling of lithium-ion batteries from industrial streams. The programme will also address emerging approaches for recovering critical raw materials and supporting circular battery value chains aligned with European sustainability goals.

This event is open to researchers, industry professionals, and anyone interested in the future of batteries and sustainable energy systems.
