Bruna Fonseca, EU Grants Manager at FI Group Portugal, gave an interview about the HEALING BAT project on July 26th 2023 at TSF Rádio Notícias, on the occasion of the Portugal Mobi Summit 2023.
Since 2018, the Portugal Mobi Summit has been a favoured stage for bringing together stakeholders from across the mobility ecosystem to debate disruptive ideas and innovative solutions. In the 2023 edition, the focus has been on carbon neutrality and the opportunities this challenge brings us, with the central theme ‘Towards a Net Zero World: An Opportunity in the Making’.
Already underway is the European project that over the next 4 years will develop a new generation of self-healing batteries that use cheaper components for industrial production and will strengthen the European Union’s position on the international market.
It is a project with an investment of 5.8 million euros that involves 10 partners, including FI Group Portugal, as Bruna Fonseca, manager of the national and European grants team, explains.
“These batteries that we intend to develop have a self-healing capacity and are also equipped with a set of tools that will allow them to be managed in a personalised way, always getting the most out of their performance, which will give them a long life cycle but will also make it possible to prevent or repair damage.
The project will run for 4 years with a consortium of 10 organisations spread over 6 member states of the European Union, in which FI Group is represented by its Portuguese branch. [FI Group] will be responsible for the communication and dissemination of the results of this initiative, in order to promote their effective exploitation and thus enable the application of new generations of batteries in a wider context.
Note that this project has been granted around 5.2 million euros in EU funding.”

Já em andamento está o projeto europeu que nos próximos 4 anos vai desenvolver uma nova geração de baterias autorregeneráveis que utilizem componentes mais baratos para a produção industrial e que sejam capazes de solidificar a posição da União Europeia no mercado internacional.
É um projeto com um investimento de 5.8 milhões de euros que envolve 10 parceiros, incluindo a portuguesa FI Group, como explica Bruna Fonseca, a gestora da equipa nacional e de financiamento europeu.
“Estas baterias que pretendemos desenvolver têm capacidade de se autorregenerar. Serão também equipadas com um conjunto de ferramentas que permitirá ao utilizador fazer uma gestão personalizada das mesmas visando sempre o máximo da sua performance que os qualidade finidade tempo de vida mas também permitirá evitar ou reparar danos.
O projeto será executado durante 4 anos com um consórcio de 10 entidades distribuídas por 6 Estados-membro da União Europeia, no qual a FI Group se representa pela sua filial portuguesa. [A FI Group] Será responsável pela comunicação e disseminação dos resultados desta iniciativa, para promover a exploração efetiva dos mesmos e assim possibilitar a aplicação de novas gerações de baterias num contexto mais alargado.
