On 11-12 December 2025, HEALING BAT partners met at the PSI – Paul Scherrer Institut facilities in Villigen, Switzerland to review project progress and align next steps across materials, sensors, testing, and digitalisation. The update reflects the consortium’s continuous coordination on self-healing batteries and systems engineering.

Key technical highlights

  • Implementing active self-healing in battery components to mitigate damage and extend service life.
  • Sensor integration into the Battery Management System (BMS) to enable real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance.
  • Coordinating battery testing data generation and data sharing across partners for consistent validation.
  • Project management, risk mitigation, and dissemination actions to keep delivery on track under Horizon Europe.
  • The consortium will continue to coordinate component development, sensor/BMS integration, and shared test campaigns to support consistent validation and system level progress.
